| InterNEDI can be the conduit for data to and from your sites. There's no need to worry about getting remote sites to fetch data when necessary, simply program them to log on daily, or as often as necessary, and then you control what they get from your central site. If specific things need to be done at some, or all sites, use InterNEDI to send a program that gets executed at the site/s.

| Automatic working
| InterNEDI can be programmed to do a sequence of tasks each time it is run. All options that are available in manual mode are also available in auto mode, plus some extra ones that allow InterNEDI to make intelligent decisions about what to do when faced with various situations.
| No need for staff to be there. Same set of tasks is done each time, or if you have other software controlling it, any one of a number of sets of tasks can be selected to be done.

| Dial-up backup
| Even if the sites have a networked connection to the Internet, you can choose to use dial-up as a backup in case your network is unavailable.

| Let files from remote site queue up
| In case you at the central site are unable to receive what has been sent between successive sends from a remote site, you can choose for sent files NOT to overwrite existing files with the same name, thus allowing any number of same-named files to accumulate before being received by you. When you finally do receive them, you can receive them all in one session, or singly.

| Ignore file if already received
| If updates sent out to remote sites are infrequent, you can specify that the remote site only actually fetches a file if it is more recent than when the site last logged on.

| Force cover note to be read
| If, rather than the site's being unmanned, it just has no computer-literate staff present, you can send cover notes that are displayed as a foreground window (i.e. no other window can be placed over it), for as long as it takes the receiver to read it. As the cover note arrives it displays a large bright strobing pattern on the screen and plays an audible message to attract their attention. Even after InterNEDI has finished and other processing has taken over, the cover note stays there until it has been read.
| Send messages for staff to act upon, that might get lost or ignored in their email, and where necessary, make sure that the receiver reads the message.

| Send file/s to be executed
| If various changes need to be done at one or more sites, you can write a program to perform the changes, and then send that file to be executed at the necessary sites (as long as you are the Super User). When your program quits, it will return error codes of your choosing to InterNEDI, which will then be returned to you in the same way as a receipt confirmation. So by checking the list of received error codes you can see where your program was executed correctly (error code 0) and where there were problems. When sending the file, you can specify how many times you wish InterNEDI to re-try running your program if it returns a non-zero error code.
